six months in the apostolate...
it seems that i have drained, used up and depleted almost all of my intellectual and pastoral formation stocked up for the past six years in the seminary.
in this active ministry, the water from the pail drains quickly.
constant updating is necessary.
after abandoning my passion for reading, i have once again returned as a prodigal son to the father.
my passion for reading did not really waned, it was just superseded by another passion and zeal: to be with the young.
i have been so blessed to have a rector who shares the same passion for books. his support and encouragement gave way to another experience of swimming through the tons of books in this year's bookfair at mall of asia.
through the generosity of our fr. rector, i indulged myself providing me with these:
Facing Your Giants by Max Lucado
A Love Worth Giving by Max Lucado
The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey
Reel Spirituality: Theology and Film in Dialogue by Robert K. Johnston
Games compiled by Mary Hohenstein
More Games by Mary Hohenstein
for obvious reasons, i would find myself into inspirational and pastoral readings.
"In the highest civilization,
the book is still the highest delight.
He who has once known its satisfaction
is provided with a resource against calamity."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
